We’re a community union, made up of ordinary people – renters, parents, workers, retirees – coming together to decide what needs to change and getting organised to win it ourselves.

ACORN membership dues are based on your income and start from 15 dollars a month, but we ask members to make a commitment of one hour's wage per month to support the work we do and help us to expand it.

Membership dues keep ACORN independent: we don't rely on big donors or governments grants. That means we're free to fight on all the issues that matter in our communities and to take on bad bosses, dodgy landlords, and politicians to win those fights.

Can I join if there isn’t a branch in my area?

Definitely! Our goal is to build branches up and down the country and we're always looking for opportunities to expand and new members we can support in doing so. If you don't have the time to commit to getting involved right now, you can still become a member to support the union's work financially too. Every new member makes us stronger, and able to take on new fights!
